Kilmurry National School opened in 1955, the two classrooms at the entrance to the school made up the original building.
In 1982, there was a large extension built on to the lower side of the school consisting of three classrooms and a multi-purpose room – fondly known as our ‘Halla’.
Over time the school community expanded again and in 2012, we opened another extension to our building – comprising of two large classrooms, a staff room and three smaller class rooms.
In September 2022, we added two prefabricated classrooms. These are temporary accommodation until we have our three autism classrooms extension.
Our school prides itself on offering a holistic education. We endeavour to allow the children to experience lots of different activities, from Sciath na Scol to quizzes, Green Schools to Cycle Sense, chess to Junior Entrepreneur and from VEX Robotics to Cork City Sports.
We have strong traditions in some of these activities and are building on the others.
